Casey Pederson among KU undergraduates honored for academic excellence

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences selected 12 recipients for its annual undergraduate student awards in recognition of academic achievement, including Casey Pederson, of Clay Center. Pederson is a senior in psychology at KU. She was awarded the Paul B. Lawson Scholarship.

Award descriptions are as follows:

• Hilden Gibson Award, for a junior student studying in the social sciences, preparing to enter his or her senior year;

• Paul B. Lawson Award, for an outstanding junior student preparing to enter his or her senior year;

• Veta B. Lear Memorial Award, for a freshman with a 4.0 grade-point average during his or her first semester;

• Van Eekeren Family Scholarship;

• Betty Wahlstedt Student Memorial Award, for undergraduates majoring in psychology, sociology or anthropology.

Awards and scholarships are made possible by gifts to KU Endowment from alumni and friends.
